Trail Grooming and Warm Weather
Trail grooming is dependent on temperature and snow conditions. When temperatures are in the 40s or above, the snow becomes soft and wet. Grooming in these conditions can damage the trail base, create deep ruts, and result in icy or uneven surfaces when temperatures drop again.
Portions of the trail system are groomed by the county. County grooming operations, including equipment availability and scheduling, are managed independently and are outside of the Association’s control and responsibility.
To protect trail quality and ensure safe skiing conditions, grooming is paused during warmer periods and resumes once temperatures return to freezing or below. We appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain the best possible trail conditions.
Disclaimer: For liability purposes, Lakes of the North does not maintain or oversee a sledding hill at Winter Sports or anywhere else within the association. Any use of natural hills or elevations for sledding is done at your own discretion and risk.
