Lakes of the North is an Annual Assessment Property Owners Association southwest of Gaylord in Antrim and Otsego Counties of Northern Michigan. The current Annual Assessment for land owner base membership is $380.00 for the first lot and $214.00 for every secondary lot you own. To qualify for a secondary lot rate the deeds must match and the lots must share a subdivision.  Annual Assessments are not billed and determined on amenity usage, lot development, or primary residence, all who own a lot in the Association are responsible for paying the base membership cost. It offers four seasons of outdoor activities to its members and their guests.

Our amenities include an 18-Hole Golf Course, Pro-Shop, full-service Restaurant/Tavern all of which are Open to the Public.  Member exclusive areas include Pencil Lake and Harold Lake beach access and beach houses, Activities Clubhouse with a Pool, Whirlpool, Water Slide, along with 2 outdoor Tennis/Pickleball Courts, Shuffleboard, Horseshoes and playground.  The Winter Sports area has an Ice Rink, Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe trails which serve as hiking trails in the summer.  Campers Village is an all-season facility for members to enjoy with their camper.  

Throughout and surrounding Lakes of the North you will find hundreds of miles of ATV/Snowmobile Trails to ride on.

We are located just 20 minutes to both Boyne Mountain Resort and Shanty Creek Resort and 45 minutes from Traverse City or 25 minutes from Gaylord.

Welcome to our Association! If you are considering purchasing property here, we are excited to have you. Before moving forward, please take a moment to review and ensure that you agree to abide by the Restrictive Covenants and the Member Amended By-Laws linked above.

As a prospective buyer, it’s important to conduct thorough research on the property you are interested in. Be sure to verify that the lots you intend to buy are free from any outstanding association dues, delinquent taxes, or liens that could affect your ownership.

Keep in mind that if you purchase a lot with a lien, you may inherit existing debts and legal fees, which could potentially lead to foreclosure. To safeguard your investment, we highly recommend conducting a title search.

Once you've completed your purchase, we kindly ask that new owners submit a copy of their recorded deed to the association and fill out the New Owner Registration form provided above. We cannot update our ownership records without receiving the recorded deed, so please remember to email it to [email protected], or you can bring a copy directly to the management office. 

If you acquired a lot from the county tax auction, please note that neither Otsego County nor Antrim County will notify us of your purchase or provide a copy of the deed. As a new member of our community, it is essential that you provide the association with your recorded deed.
